Keep your dog sharp during their stay with short daily sessions to reinforce existing skills.
Choose 2 or 3 of the following items for training sessions to focus on during your stay:
Sit – The most fundamental command. Helps calm excited dogs and sets up good manners.
Stay – Keeps your dog in place until released, essential for safety and control.
Come (Recall) – Arguably the most important. Ensures your dog returns to you immediately, even with distractions.
Down (Lie Down) – Promotes calmness and gives control in busy or overstimulating settings.
Leave It – Prevents dogs from picking up or interacting with unsafe or unwanted objects.
Drop It – Teaches dogs to release items from their mouth (helpful for toys, socks, or dangerous items).
Heel (or Loose-Leash Walking) – Encourages polite walking without pulling, making walks enjoyable.
Wait – A pause command for doorways, car exits, or meals; adds impulse control.
Off – Prevents jumping on people or furniture; establishes respectful boundaries.
Place (Go to Bed/Mat) – Sends your dog to a designated spot; great for calming them during meals, guests arriving, or downtime.
