Some pets come for the night. Some spend the day. Others stop in for a fresh trim or a quiet place to settle in while their family is away. Whatever brings them through the gate, our job is to make sure they feel comfortable, cared for and glad they came.

Why Families Come Back
Beautiful spaces make a great first impression. What keeps families coming back is how their pets are treated — the communication, the familiar faces, the peace of mind, and the feeling that someone truly knows their dog. Scroll through a few reviews and you'll see those themes come up again and again.
When pets are happy to come back and their people feel comfortable leaving them with us, we know we're doing the important part right.
How We Care
What Good Care Looks Like Here
Great pet care isn't one-size-fits-all. It starts with paying attention — to who wants to play, who needs a little space, who ate dinner, who seems nervous, and who just needs an extra minute with somebody they trust. The little things tell us a lot.
We Pay Attention
Good care means noticing the details: appetite, energy, body language, routines and the small changes that tell us how a pet is really doing.
Not Every Pet Wants the Same Day
Some dogs want a yard full of friends. Some prefer a quieter pace. Some need extra activity and some would rather settle into a comfortable spot and watch the world.
Rest Matters, Too
Play gets a lot of attention, but comfortable rest is just as important. Clean spaces, dependable routines and thoughtful accommodations help pets settle in between adventures.
You Should Feel Comfortable, Too
Leaving a pet behind can be harder on the person than the pet. Clear communication, helpful updates and a team you can reach make that separation a whole lot easier.
Good to Know Before You Visit
A Few Questions We Hear All the Time
Planning a first visit shouldn't feel complicated. Here are the basics most families want to know before they arrive. If your pet needs something a little different, just ask us.
What vaccines does my dog need?
Dogs visiting for boarding or daycare need current Rabies, Bordetella and DHPP vaccinations. The easiest way to send them is to text a photo or email them to your location: Spring at (832) 447-8302 or spring@barksandwildlife.com, Longville at (337) 317-3659 or longville@barksandwildlife.com.
What should I bring for a boarding stay?
We recommend bringing your pet's regular food so their diet stays familiar while they're away. Pre-portioned and labeled meals are especially helpful.
If your pet takes medication, bring it in the original container with clear instructions. A familiar blanket or appropriate toy can also help some pets settle in.
Will my dog have to play with other dogs?
No. Group play isn't the right fit for every dog, and that's completely fine. We consider temperament, comfort and play style when deciding how a guest should spend their activity time.
Dogs who enjoy friends can be matched with appropriate playmates, while dogs who prefer their own space can enjoy individual activity and attention.
Can I check on my dog while they're boarding?
At our Spring, Texas retreat, every boarding suite includes 24/7 live camera access so you can check in whenever you'd like.
Our team also uses updates, photos and communication to help families stay connected while their pets are with us.
Can you give my pet medication?
We can accommodate many routine oral and topical medications. Bring medications in their original containers with clear instructions and tell our team about them when you make the reservation.
If your pet has more involved medical needs, contact us before the stay so we can make sure we're the right fit.
I'm a new client. How do I make my first reservation?
For Spring , start with our short reservation request . Send us the basics and a real member of our Spring team will follow up with you.
For Longville , start from our Longville location page or call or text (337) 317-3659 .
