Our Story

For as long as we can remember, dogs have been part of our family story. Growing up surrounded by pets taught us the joy, loyalty, and companionship they bring to everyday life.

Today, we share our home with an excellently trained Golden Retriever, a dog whose intelligence, temperament, and loyalty inspired so much of what we do. Bailey’s constant watchful eyes have saved our kids lives, and noticed when days have been long, always ready to jump in and add love, adventure, and happiness to our lives.

That passion is what led us to create Barks & Wildlife Retreat: a place where dogs can thrive in a safe, sensory-rich environment while their families enjoy peace of mind.

Dana, our Kennel Manager in Longville, is never far from a wagging tail—her two dogs make sure she never leaves home without a tennis ball. She loves what she does and enjoys every new pup she meets. Though not originally from Longville, the outdoors and adventures here quickly stole her heart, and she’s proud to now call it home.

Holly has been with Barks & Wildlife for 2 years and is our dedicated Kennel Manager. At home, she juggles life with her husband, 3 kids, and a house full of pets. She loves getting to know each dog’s quirks and making them feel comfortable, and her favorite moments are when pups come in excited to see her.

With years of experience creating and running successful care-based businesses, they combined their love of animals with their leadership skills to build a retreat-style haven where pets thrive. From luxury boarding to safe daycare and enrichment, every detail is designed with your dog’s happiness, health, and safety in mind.
