Our separate cat area can house up to six feline guests, each having their own condo.
The condos are located indoors, in a quiet climate controlled area away from the dogs, and are quite spacious at 4’ tall by 3’ wide and 2’ deep with three shelves at different levels for lounging. Each condo has soft bedding, individual litter boxes, and separate feeding stations.
Each condo can house up to two felines.
Please bring your cat’s typical diet and/or snacks. This helps avoid stomach upsets and other potential health concerns while boarding.
Cats must be from the same household to share a condo. Vet records must have the same owner name/address to qualify.

❓ Cat Boarding FAQs – Longville, LA
Q: What’s included in cat boarding at Barks & Wildlife Retreat?
Each feline guest enjoys a private, climate-controlled suite with cozy bedding, daily cleaning, and fresh water at all times. We provide personalized care, feeding based on your instructions, and plenty of calm, one-on-one attention from our staff.
Q: What if I don’t bring food — do you offer House Food for cats?
Yes! We provide Purina Cat Chow Farm-Raised Chicken as our House Food for cats. It’s a gentle, balanced diet that supports healthy digestion and a shiny coat. A small daily fee applies for this service.
Q: Are vaccinations required for cats?
Yes. For everyone’s safety, we require proof of current Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations before boarding. We recommend these records be emailed to us ahead of your stay or brought in at check-in.
Q: Do cats get playtime or interaction?
Yes! Each cat receives personalized enrichment sessions — whether that’s gentle play, chin scratches, or just calm companionship. We tailor interaction to your cat’s personality, so shy cats get quiet comfort and social cats get fun playtime.
Q: What if I pick up my pet early?
Due to high demand, you are charged for the full duration of your reservation, even if you pick up early.
Q: How often are cats fed and checked on?
Cats are fed according to their normal home schedule — typically once or twice per day — and are visually checked on multiple times daily by our team to ensure they’re comfortable, eating, and relaxed.
Q: How do you keep cats calm and comfortable during their stay?
Our cat boarding area is kept quiet, low-stress, and dog-free. Soothing music, natural light, and a steady routine help cats settle in quickly. We also use pheromone diffusers and soft bedding to create a peaceful environment.
Q: Can I bring my cat’s own food and belongings?
Absolutely! We encourage you to bring your cat’s regular food to maintain consistency and reduce stress. You’re also welcome to include a small blanket, bed, or toy that smells like home for extra comfort.
Q: Can you give medications or special diets?
Absolutely. We’re experienced in administering oral or topical medications, as well as accommodating special diets. Just provide clear written instructions and your supplies at check-in.
